Alcacent/ Lucatel fills two c-level jobs
One from Alcatel, one from Lucent
The post of CMO and CTO at the merged Alcatel/Lucent combined company have been filled. John Giere, who held the CMO position at Lucent has beaten Alcatel's CMO Alan Mottram to the job at the merged outfit. And Alcatel's CTO Olivier Baujard will take the CTO job. Joeng Kim will stay as president as President of Bell Labs.
Another appointment sees Helle Kristoffersen, currently vice president of corporate strategy for Alcatel take the same role for the combined company. Baujard, Kim and Kristoffersen will report to Mike Quigley, who will serve as president, Science, Technology and Strategy, in the combined company. Quigley is currently President and chief operating officer (COO) of Alcatel.
These announcements mean just about all the top level jobs at the combined company are now filled.
Giere will have his hands full as CMO to make public sense of the merger, but he's done a decent job at Lucent these past few months.
Baujard has been at Alcatel for 18 years, and is a true company man, having headed up the neywork applications and enterprise solutions division in his time. Kim has been with Lucent since 1992 but has had four recent years in Academia before returning last year as president of the R&D division.
