3GSM NEWS: LCC addresses end-user mobile content experience with launch of ContentView

LCC International, a global leader in wireless turn-key services, has announced the launch of ContentView, its mobile content and end-user Quality of Experience solution as part of the company's TotalViewTM Service Delivery Platform. This new service uniquely measures actual consumer experience, providing content providers, operators and handset manufacturers with real insight into end-user performance of mobile content services.

Currently the quality of experience for mobile content is typically measured on a 'delivery' basis from the network towards the handset. LCC's ContentView measures the experience from the end-user towards the network and provides real-time, in-depth analysis of key performance indicators designed to increase content adoption and maximize revenues. It measures download, upload and quality of experience across a broad spectrum of content including full track music downloads, video on demand, news, themes and all other mobile content.

ContentView benchmarks its analysis against key performance indicators including availability, usability, download performance and interoperability. Measurements are then captured, evaluated and combined with network data to assess the overall quality of the end-user experience for any content segment across 1000+ handsets. The outputs are then delivered to the client with full analysis and service improvement recommendations. The service works across all network standards including EDGE, CDMA, UMTS, HSDPA, EV-DO and soon, WiMAX.

According to Informa Telecoms & Media, the mobile advertising industry alone is forecast to grow from $900 million in 2006 to $11 billion by 2011. However, the requirement for end-user Quality of Experience measurements is clearly illustrated by a recent consumer survey* that found that only 12% of consumers are satisfied with their mobile content experience and over 20% of online transactions never completed.
"By harnessing the knowledge delivered by ContentView, LCC can provide wireless operators, handset manufacturers and mobile content providers with unique insight into their consumers' mobile experience," explained Kenny Young, Chief Marketing Officer, LCC International Inc.

"With operators dependent on increased content adoption in order to drive revenue and customer growth, measuring and improving the experience of mobile content has reached a critical stage for our industry. ContentView is the first holistic solution to measure the consumer experience of mobile content and will unite the operator, the handset manufacturer and content provider into a single, customer centric approach."
