AIRCOM International provides Handset Validation Services
AIRCOM International, global provider of mobile network OSS, planning, optimisation solutions, today announced it has recently launched its new Handset Validation Services unit.
Headed by Pietro Macchiarella, the unit provides telecom organisations with years of proven experience on IOT (Interoperability Testing) and handset testing procedures, both in lab and field environments.
Due to the introduction of multiple technologies offering more complex applications and services, handset validation has become a complex, time-consuming and costly exercise for telecom operators and manufacturers. This is especially true for 3G operators as the user experience is highly affected by the quality of the handsets’ pre-launch validation. It is therefore key for vendors and operators to find a partner who can accurately test the equipment whilst reducing time to market.
“What sets AIRCOM apart from other suppliers is its strong background in network engineering”, says Pietro Macchiarella, “First of all it means that user equipment can be tested within the live network, so that when a fault is found we can confidently attribute it to the right entity (handset manufacturer, network vendor, or operator). On top of that, we enjoy strong relationships with both handset manufacturers and operators, which greatly facilitates communication during the testing process and ensures quicker time-to-market of the mobile phones”.
Handset Validation Services is the 5th main area of expertise that AIRCOM Consultancy offers in addition to strategic services, radio planning, access/core planning and performance engineering. AIRCOM’s Consultancy Services have been a very successful part of the business over the years. AIRCOM directly employs several hundred highly skilled telecoms consultants worldwide.
