T-Mobile to test DVB-H at INVEX
T-Mobile Czech Republic uses Siemens equipment for interactive mobile TV with music charts, news and live transmissions
With the start of the INVEX trade fair in Brno, Czech Republic, T-Mobile Czech Republic is also starting to test mobile television. The system platform for the trade fair demonstration, based on DVB-H technology (Digital Video Broadcast Handheld), comes
from Siemens Communications.
Prototypes of a mobile pocket television with feedback channel via the mobile operator are being provided by BenQ. At the trade fair in Brno, the Czech mobile operator will demonstrate four channels: pop music charts from the TV programme t-music, ČT24 (the country's online news station), a direct transmission
from the T-Mobile stand to INVEX and the reality show VyVolení. Alongside "normal television", trade fair visitors can also try out interactive services, such as selecting their favorite hit or downloading ringtones. T-Mobile Czech Republic is the first operator to use the platform live that Siemens and BenQ are offering as an end-to-end solution for DVB-H tests.
