Orange Switzerland uses hosted mportal to add to OrangeWorld
Echovox launches M-Portal, Orange Switzerland signed as customer
Echovox today unveiled the latest element of its end-to-end mobile solution, M-Portal Suite. Built on Echovox’s bespoke ICON infrastructure (Inter-Carrier Open Network), M-Portal gives mobile operators and brand owners the tools to extend their internet presence to a mobile platform. It integrates dynamic device rendering and content adaptation, superior delivery, WAP/Premium SMS billing and compliance capabilities.
M-Portal simplifies the mobile value chain. It eliminates the need to engage multiple specialists for WAP, i-mode, device rendering, content adaptation and billing, therefore making it quicker and easier to manage a mobile portal.
Backed up by an Echovox team of mobile portal experts, M-Portal enables users to launch bespoke mobile content portals, over WAP or i-mode. Companies can choose to mobilize their existing online content, which Echovox will transcode and adapt for mobile use. Alternatively they can use a library of content provided by Echovox or a blend of the two.
Orange Switzerland has been signed up as the first customer, and will implement three modules to its ‘OrangeWorld’ portal to encourage brand loyalty and drive revenues. These modules will enable Orange Switzerland to offer rich-media mobile news, sports results and sports news content. Echovox will manage the integration of feeds, deployment of the three sub-portals, device rendering, content adaptation, hosting and content delivery.
David Murphy, Director Product Management at Orange Switzerland commented: “Orange Switzerland selected Echovox to deploy our new branded News and Sport mobile offers. We made our decision as a result of Echovox’s experience in delivering multi-device services, quality portals and services. The Echovox solution supports us to rapidly deploy an evolution of our mobile internet portal”.
