Vitelcom Launches UMTS i-mode Handsets in European Market
G600i handset is commercially available in Spain from
Telefonica Moviles
Qualcomm and Vitelcom have today announced that the i-mode G600i mobile handset is commercially available in Spain from
network operator Telefonica Moviles. The handset is based on Qualcomm's Mobile Station Modem MSM6250 which supports WCDMA (UMTS), GPRS and GSM standards.
"Vitelcom is excited to provide one of the first UMTS i-mode phones to Telefonica Moviles," said Carlos Carrero, chief executive officer of Vitelcom. "We look forward to providing a feature-rich, exciting and consistent end-user experience for European i-mode subscribers."

The G600i handset features the MSM6250 chipset, which is part of
QUALCOMM's Multimedia Platform of single-chip solutions that deliver engaging multimedia devices and applications.
