Tellabs 8000 network manager targeting efficiency
Service providers can minimize network operating expenses with the new Tellabs 8000 network manager. The Tellabs 8000 manager is the only system that enables service providers to control multiple Tellabs systems based on various technologies (TDM, Frame Relay, ATM, IP and Ethernet) with a single platform.
As the demand for mobile and wireline services grows, service providers need to manage multiple, complex networks. With the Tellabs 8000 manager, providers can minimize operational expenses in the mobile RAN (Radio Access Network) or wireline network by automating and hiding the complexities of network management operations. The Tellabs 8000 manager provides fast, accurate and fully documented service delivery. It offers all the tools needed to pre-plan, build and maintain networks. Its easy-to-learn graphical user interface (GUI) speeds time to provisioning new services and shortens time to revenue. Network-wide pre-planning and extensive testing tools minimize the number of site visits and unexpected network-related costs.
"Our new network manager enables reliable and flexible services, maximizing revenue and customer satisfaction," said Mika Heikkinen, vice president and general manager for Tellabs Finland, where the product was developed. "The Tellabs 8000 manager is designed to meet stringent customer needs by providing redundant, carrier-class and user-friendly network management tools."
The Tellabs 8000 manager is based on scaleable and modular architecture, supporting a total of 30,000 nodes and 360 simultaneous workstation users. It provides a seamless integration with other OSS systems, and it is generally available now.
The Tellabs 8000 manager is based on the Tellabs 8100 network manager, which is used in hundreds of networks in more than 90 countries. Existing 2G customers using the Tellabs 8100 manager can update their networks to 3G and migrate to the new product to manage both 2G and 3G networks efficiently. The Tellabs 8000 manager controls the Tellabs 6300 system, the Tellabs 8100 system and the Tellabs 8600 system.
