Appium and Intec launch new charging & billing capability for all-IP networks

Appium, a provider of next-generation telecommunications applications platforms, and Intec, a leading supplier of charging & billing systems, have today announced the launch of a new enhanced pre-paid billing solution.

The Intec Charging & Billing solution now works together with the Appium platform and allows operators to cost-effectively migrate their services to all-IP networks. The two companies are partnering to bring a first in complete, configurable real-time platforms between multiple network technologies and back-office systems.

The new pre-paid solution brings together the flexibility of the Appium-Xway application server together with market-leading charging & billing technology from Intec. The combined technologies enable operators to charge for services over any network whilst migrating services to an all-IP network environment. The combined Appium-Intec solution will cater for all service types including voice, data and premium content, enabling operators to deploy differentiated mobile data services on a pre-paid, post-paid, per transaction or per event scenario.

This pre-paid charging capability complements Appium’s array of platform applications. The solution has been developed to enable operators to provide pre-paid charging & billing services to the enterprise sector, which has not been possible until now.

Keith Miller, CEO of Appium commented on the partnership:  “The partnership with Intec provides a great addition to Appium’s expertise and the billing solution strengthens our offerings for the next-generation telecommunications applications platforms. The Intec Charging & Billing solution will significantly increase the possibilities for operators to offer truly advanced services in an ever-growing pre-paid market”.

“Our charging & billing expertise is recognised throughout the mobile industry. We have been looking for a technology partner that enables us to offer a turnkey solution for charging & billing services on a platform that also offers an array of applications for operators wanting convergent services. The Appium-Xway application server enables us to do this,” said Intec CEO, Kevin Adams.
