Intec and Telef
Intec Telecom Systems, a provider of operations support systems (OSS) for fixed, wireless, and next-generation communications services, announced today that it has signed a global software framework agreement with Telefónica Móviles, one of the world’s largest cellular phone groups. A number of Telefónica group companies already use Intec InterconnecT products.
The agreement, the terms of which are available to all the Telefónica Group’s affiliates worldwide, covers Intec's entire InterconnecT family of products, including InterconnecT, InterconnecT Settler, and InterconnecT ITU.
The agreement enables any of Telefónica’s and Telefónica Móviles' affiliates to install Intec's market-leading settlement family of solutions using a standard contract and terms. The Telefónica Móviles’ subsidiary in Brazil, Vivo, will be one of the first to bring all of its interconnect billing operations together using Intec products under this agreement.
InterconnecT, which allows communications service providers to bill for usage of their networks by other carriers, is the market leader in carrier-to-carrier billing with over 200 customers worldwide. Supporting any kind of service, from simple voice to the most sophisticated next-generation mobile offerings, InterconnecT now will be available to all Telefónica Móviles and Telefónica affiliates as one of the preferred solutions for the group.
"With an alliance in place we can cut costs and operating effort in our affiliates. Developing such alliances has become a critical part of maintaining a competitive advantage in the quickly evolving communications market," said Juan Perales, General Director of Information Systems in Latin America for Telefónica Móviles.
Designed specifically for the expanding needs of the communications industry, Intec's InterconnecT range is a comprehensive family of carrier-to-carrier billing applications that gives telecom operators the capability to adapt to a changing interconnect market. The solution offers proven flexibility and performance to enable companies to manage all types of agreements across national-level, multi-vendor networks. The InterconnecT family can handle all types of domestic, international, ITU rules-based, and next-generation communications services.
“This strategic global contract arrangement is beneficial for both Intec and Telefónica Móviles and we are delighted to establish a formal partnership with them," said Kevin Adams, Chief Executive Officer of Intec. "As a result of this new alliance Intec could gain a substantial increase in its installed base, particularly in Latin America - one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets in the world. In return, Telefónica Móviles will gain the ability to roll out the world's most highly rated interconnect solution with short project timescales and reduced costs."
