Vodafone launches Radio DJ
Vodafone customers can now create their own personal radio station on their mobile phone
Vodafone has launched Radio DJ, which allows users to listen to an advert-free service, tailored to their individual likes and dislikes, via Vodafone live! with 3G.
With the three options available through Vodafone Radio DJ, customers can revisit old favourites or uncover previously unheard tracks in a style they like, all without any chatter from a presenter.
The three options are:
My Channels: After picking a mood, musical genre and decade, Vodafone Radio DJ will create a playlist full of songs that fit those criteria. Customers can rate these songs, enabling Vodafone Radio DJ to learn their preferences. Over time, this builds a personalised station, only playing the type of music the customer likes.
Featured channels: For those that don’t want to be so specific, the pre-defined channels will give instant access to a constant stream of music of a particular style. These include everything from a decade of music, like the 90s, to a particular genre, such as hip-hop. These channels will be updated regularly, providing an ever-changing choice of streamed music.
Compilations: Another option is to listen to one of the ten compilations available, each comprising ten tracks. Topical compilations, obscure compilations, party compilations – this constantly changing section will broaden the musical knowledge of even the biggest music fan.
A subscription to Vodafone Radio DJ costs £7.50 per month giving access to over 50,000 tracks, and can be accessed by Vodafone customers through the internet as well as their mobile, streaming top musical content to computers whether at home or at work.
Vodafone Radio DJ is currently available on the Nokia N70, 6680, 6630, N91 and N73 handsets and the new Sony Ericsson V630i, exclusive to Vodafone. The range will be further expanded in the near future.
