BSG and Travelling Connect partner to offer roaming rewards services to mobile operators
BSG’s turn-key clearing solution said to allow mobile operators to achieve faster implementation of Travelling Connect’s Inbound Roaming rewards program
BSG Clearing Solutions (BSG), a subsidiary of Billing Services Group Limited, the telecom industry’s clearing and settlement provider, and Travelling Connect, a worldwide provider of loyalty services for mobile operators, have today announced a partnership agreement to offer roaming loyalty services to mobile operators.
Under the agreement, BSG will offer a turn-key clearing solution for Travelling Connect’s Inbound Roaming loyalty rewards service. Travelling Connect will promote BSG as a preferred clearinghouse to prospective clients worldwide. Travelling Connect’s Inbound Roaming Service allows international travelers to earn miles or points when making international mobile calls on affiliated mobile networks. End users can redeem points for free flights and hotel accommodations with partners that include Air France/KLM, Alitalia, Hilton, Marriott, Thai Airways and Malaysia Airlines. BSG’s turn-key solution provides an interface to ensure roaming subscriber information is accurately tracked and allocated, while enabling mobile operators to quickly implement Inbound Roaming Service with minimal operational impact.
According to a March 2006 Gartner report, charges for international roaming are expected to decline dramatically from 2006 through 2008 because of regulatory pressures and competitive reasons. By rewarding callers for international roaming, the Travelling Connect program is said to give operators an effective way to protect and attract inbound roaming traffic.
