Telefónica Spain and Owasys have been collaborating within the SMART PLATFORM in order to provide solutions for the management of M2M communications, allowing the communication in real time and covering the needs of security, availability and control.

With the service, Telefónica allows an easy and flexible access through the M2M SMART PLATFORM, a specific gateway which offers integrated added value services such as positioning, presence, software downloads, broadcast, checking consumers or access control. 'Mundo Máquina' is said to be an ideal solution for Security, Telemetry, Telematics, and Fleet Management.

Telefónica Móviles is a global operator with both fixed and mobile technology, and M2M Solutions directly impact on customer business, reducing cost and increasing incomes with the possibility of new business. The objective is to provide efficient tools to customers, says Telefonica.

“This is a unique opportunity for the take off of the M2M market. On one side we have the operator Telefónica involved and on the other side there is and increasing demand from the system integrators asking for devices like the Owasys products which are more cost efficient for volume projects. Owasys has responded to this demand with a strategy for the development of devices combining wireless long and short range technologies, offering to their customers the family of products they require," said Jon Murcia, Sales and Marketing Director of Owasys.

The versatility of the Owasys products, said to be unique in the market with its open and robust platform as a wireless embedded PC, allows the integrators to create solutions in their vertical market applications.
