myWAP and peperonity.com add MMS and video uploads to their mobile services
The UK’s mobile community services – O2’s myWAP and off-portal peperonity.com – have enhanced their mobile services. Mobile users can now upload MMS images and video to their mobile sites, Peperoni, a mobile community specialist has announced.
myWAP and peperonity.com, which boast almost more than half of a million mobile sites, enable users to build their own interactive pages on the mobile web, including text, pictures, commentary and links.
Armed only with a mobile phone and with no programming knowledge needed, mobile users can design their own mobile page layout, run blogs and chat with other members of the community.
The new features include MMS image and video upload as well as completely redesigned pages layout including colour XHTML and thumbnail previews of subpage content.
“It's a new dawn for social networking. It's now just as easy to network via mobile phone as on a PC,“ said Marcus Ladwig, COO at Peperoni. “Mobile users can blog, meet new friends and share content with phone users across the world. With 3G transfer speeds, we are quickly catching up with the online providers and are changing the social networking arena dramatically.”
Peperoni provides a range of mobile web templates, delivers content in a right format across a range of mobile devices and hosts data on a dedicated, secure server. UK mobile users can either use myWAP or peperonity.com, Peperoni's off-portal site-building network as the two services share the same user database.
