LogicaCMG IP Voicemail Platform selected by Proximus to support future innovations
LogicaCMG has today announced that Proximus - which is part of the Belgacom Group and Belgium's leading mobile operator - has selected LogicaCMG's Voicemail Platform to replace its legacy system and provide next generation IP voicemail services.
The LogicaCMG Voicemail Platform enables fixed and mobile operators to launch new and innovative services such as unified messaging, videomail, text to speech and a media services portal, whilst reducing deployment and operational costs. The LogicaCMG Voicemail Platform is an Internet protocol (IP)-centric solution with a modular and highly scalable architecture that enables operators to begin with voicemail or email services and expand with new applications as their requirements change and grow.
Laurent Claus, executive vice president customer and technical services, at Proximus commented: "We wanted to upgrade to an all-IP network to allow application expansion and lower the total cost of ownership. Moreover the LogicaCMG solution will also allow the Belgacom Group to provide convergent products to our customers. LogicaCMG's reputation as the leading global provider of voicemail and messaging, coupled with our previous experience with them, convinced us that they could play an integral role in our future success."
Chris McDermott, chief executive, LogicaCMG telecoms, said: "The mature Belgium market means that there is opportunity for operators to deliver compelling new services and applications to an audience ready to embrace them. With our unrivalled understanding of the industry and the requirements of operators globally, LogicaCMG was in the best position to provide a solution that not only delivers the services that Proximus and its customers demand today, but also enable the innovations of tomorrow."
