Cibernet merges with MACH
MACH, a leading global clearing and settlement partner for mobile based transactions and Cibernet, a leading mobile roaming business solutions provider, have announced that the two companies have officially merged to form a new company with a global reach, serving over 650 mobile operator clients.
The new look business will continue under the name of MACH, and will draw on the expertise of both companies to serve mobile operators that aim to develop their mobile roaming, data clearing and financial settlement businesses.
Cibernet is a name synonymous with mobile roaming in North America, while MACH is the leading provider of clearing and settlement systems to operators in the rest of the world. The two entered into a merger agreement in March 2007, announcing their strategy to form a company that would have the capability and reach to support mobile operators across the world as the demand for mobile roaming and related services from mobile subscribers continues to increase.
Piyush Sodha, CTO of MACH and former Chairman and CEO of Cibernet commented:
"The exciting blend of highly skilled and experienced employees, business practices and innovative new solutions that MACH now has at its disposal is a major boost to our existing customers. We now have something extra to offer our prospective customers as more and more carriers look to generate revenue streams from mobile roaming and related services."
Martin Lippert, the Chief Executive Officer of MACH, explained: "MACH's excellence in clearing high-volume data transactions, combined with Cibernet's deep understanding of the financial clearing market will only serve to strengthen our position as the first choice partner of any carrier aiming to maximise its mobile roaming, financial and data clearing business."
Martin continued: "MACH has developed a strong reputation as a reliable and forward looking partner to operators in the GSM world - with this merger we can now take the MACH brand into new territories such as the U.S."
The new look MACH offering will be built on the foundation of MACH¹s robust MDS platform, a scalable Œbest in class¹ system for data clearing that is widely used by MACH¹s existing client base, that is also a launch pad for clients to integrate related services to add value to their portfolio. This infrastructure will be combined with The One1Clear system, a financial clearing platform that was developed by Cibernet. Renowned as a pioneering solution, it will underpin the financial clearing side of the operation.
