Accuris Networks announces new partner relationship with O2 UK

Accuris Networks, a specialist in mobile convergence technology, has announced that it has entered into a new relationship with O2 UK as part of its AccuROAM product offering.  AccuROAM allows CDMA operators to enable their subscribers to roam onto GSM networks while traveling, opening up a new world of opportunity and revenue for the CDMA carrier.

The AccuROAM CDMA to GSM roaming solution consists of three parts:

GSM / CDMA Dual-mode handsets provided by multiple vendors
GSM SIM cards  - provided by O2 UK directly to CDMA operators
The AccuROAM platform - provided by Accuris Networks

Commenting on the new relationship Aidan Dillon CEO of Accuris Networks stated:
"We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with O2. As part of the Telefonica group O2 offers CDMA operators the ability to roam in 184 countries with 417 GSM roaming agreements worldwide.  This means that when CDMA operators deploy AccuROAM they create an opportunity to dramatically increase revenues by extending their global roaming footprint to include GSM operators.  They also offer their subscibers greater freedom with an easy to use home-away-from-home phone experience when traveling.

We can't think of a more natural partnership than this one between O2, the leader and brand synonymous with innovative mobile services, and Accuris Networks, the innovator in mobile convergence technology," said Steve Tomkins, Head of International Roaming Services at O2 UK. "Going forward we look forward to working closely with Accuris Networks to provide what we see as the optimum CDMA to GSM roaming solution available on the market today."

Most recently Accuris Networks deployed AccuROAM with CDMA operator Telecom New Zealand. "Accuris Networks' history of innovation in telecommunications technology, and specifically CDMA, was one of the attractions for us," said Kevin Bowler, General Manager Consumer Marketing, Telecom New Zealand. "We looked at the number of vendors offering CDMA to GSM roaming and quickly deduced that not only could AccuROAM be deployed quickly helping us to meet our aggressive WorldMode campaign rollout timeframe, but that it represented the best solution both technically and operationally available to us."
