AIRCOM's Consultancy Services lined up for Vodafone Italy
AIRCOM International has signed a consultancy contract with Vodafone Italy to cover its entire network data collection services. This contract will provide Vodafone with network consultancy services across the whole of Italy for the next two years.
AIRCOM’s consultancy services will allow Vodafone Italy to assess the performance of its GSM and UMTS networks throughout the region, whilst delivering accurate network data for bench marking purposes in less time. Sixteen AIRCOM teams will provide Vodafone with continuous availability of drive test results while ensuring a single point of contact on the ground.
“AIRCOM has been working with Vodafone Italy since it began using our OPTIMA network monitoring tool in 2004,” said Marc Penesso, Managing Director AIRCOM Italy.
“Winning this contract demonstrates the reliability of AIRCOM’s service and the amount of trust we’ve built up with Vodafone over the years. Our network performance measurement activities are designed to allow Vodafone’s management teams to make better informed decisions in much less time.”
Prior to committing these tasks to AIRCOM, Vodafone’s E2E Quality of Service assessment was internally managed using temporary contractors to provide network performance measurement results.
Vodafone Italy has 27.366 million subscribers in Italy, with GSM network coverage of 97 percent by territory, covering 99.4 percent of Italy’s population. Its developing UMTS network provides coverage to 75 percent of the population, making it the market leader in the Italian telecommunications industry.
