Orange evolves 'Animal' packages

Two years after the launch of 'Animals', Orange has unveiled its updated pay monthly packages which are said to reflect the changing ways that people are using their mobile phones. As of the 1st of March 2008, Orange has updated its packages to include mobile internet and social networking as an inclusive benefit and offer even better value for money to its customers.

The Dolphin, Raccoon, Canary and Panther packages were introduced in Spring 2006. Since then, Orange has become the market leader* in PAYM acquisition in the UK. Now the packages are being adapted to represent the new ways people are using their phones.

One of the biggest changes is the introduction of the all new Dolphin 40, which provides customers with unlimited evening and weekend mobile internet access and unlimited anytime texts, alongside 750 inclusive minutes. Designed for customers who have embraced mobile social networking, Dolphin 40 will also give users access to Bebo on the move - unlimited access to the Bebo mobile internet site, SMS alerts when they receive updates, and SMS uploads to their Bebo friends profiles.

The changes will also bring mobile internet to all customers selecting Panther packages. Customers will benefit from large text and inclusive minute allowances and will now also have the option to receive unlimited texts or unlimited calls to landlines or Orange numbers or alternatively, anytime mobile internet browsing.

Crispin Tristram, Head of Pay Monthly, Orange UK said: "The success of the Animal packages over the past two years has seen Orange become the market leader in Pay Monthly acquisition. Both store staff and customers have welcomed how the Animals' simple pricing structure based on behavioural habits has made it easier for customers to choose the right package."

He added "By including the internet in our packages we are reflecting how people are using their phones. The changes make mobile internet and social networking even more accessible."

Orange will also be rewarding customers who take out 24 month contracts by reducing their monthly commitments to a lower price.

In addition to the new data allowances, the changes will mark the introduction of unlimited deals to indirect dealers such as Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.
