T-Mobile UK customers will now be able to access a wide range of new content and services from the Sidekick "Catalogue." From here users can find a short description of the applications and can choose to "preview" them before downloading. The content is then downloaded from the Sidekick service over-the-air to all models in the Sidekick range of devices.
Content available will include popular games such as Pac-Man, ring tones from the major record labels, themes and backgrounds to allow users to customise their device, as well as personal productivity and Web 2.0 applications. Initial Pricing will range from £2 for ring tones to £5 for more advanced games and applications.
Danger provides the content Catalogue as part of its software and services offering to operators. The Catalogue is designed to empower users to view and then download new applications and content directly to the device with just a few clicks. Because every application and service in the Catalogue has been tested, each application is claimed to download seamlessly and securely. All content is also said to be optimised specifically for the Sidekick, so games and applications can interact with other onboard applications such as push email, instant messaging and the full html web browser.
