Telenor selects Huawei for LTE network trial in Norway
Huawei has announced that Norwegian operator, Telenor, has chosen Huawei to provide LTE (Long Term Evolution) radio access and EPC (Evolved Packet Core) equipment for its LTE trial in Oslo, Norway.
Aimed at testing services and applications, such as VOD (Video-On-Demand), VOIP (Voice-Over-Internet Protocol), network handover and network throughput, the LTE trial will involve Telenor's Group Business Development & Research as well as several operating companies within the Group.
Yogesh Malik, Senior Vice President, Head of Technology & Sourcing, Telenor, said: "This is a milestone and an important step in better understanding the LTE capabilities and the LTE position in the overall broadband offering. We are very pleased to be working with Huawei on this trial."
All the necessary equipments have been shipped to Oslo and installation has begun.
