Mobile advertising network AdMob has been releasing its stats for two years now, in which it tracks data such as which handsets are making the most requests to its ad servers, which OS drives the most usage, and which territories see the most action on its network.

Judging 250 entries and registrations for the Smaato Mobile Advertising Award gave the judges the opportunity to list some "top trends". There's nothing particularly surprisign here, except perhaps the prominence given to location.

The latest accounts show a net loss of $15,179,000 for the nine months to the end of September on revenues of $801,000 for the same period. And that's only good news because in the same period last year the company lost over $40m.
