Comcast is pushing AI deep into its broadband infrastructure, within feet of customers. AI-powered network amplifiers are bringing capabilities for real-time decisions to the edge of the network. Elad Nafshi, Chief Network Officer, Connectivity and Platforms, at Comcast said, “This marks a pivotal shift from centralized AI systems to distributed intelligence at the edge, enabling our network to make real-time decisions that optimize each customer’s experience – whether they’re streaming, gaming, or working from home.”
On the mobile front, CCS Insight reports, “AI is no longer just an add-on; it’s becoming the core intelligence behind network efficiency and customer experience…AI-driven network optimization can predict congestion points, dynamically adjust network parameters, and detect and resolve faults significantly faster than manual processes. This translates directly into reduced operational costs and improved service reliability, vital for complex 5G infrastructures.”
