How Telcos Can Close the Cybersecurity Gap for Small Businesses

While large enterprises spend more on cybersecurity overall, small- and medium-sized businesses or enterprises (SMBs/SMEs) are the fastest-growing spenders at a 16.9% CAGR to 2030.

This is driven directly by strict regional regulations like NIS2 and a localised 40% surge in cyberattacks, according to Market Data Forecast. Note that in the European Union, 93% to 95% of all SMBs are classified as small [up to 50 employees] or micro businesses [with up to five workers] and are the backbone of the bloc’s economy.

Research by Analysys Mason found that one out of five SMEs already receive most of their security services from operators and the likes of Orange Business and KPN have invested heavily in this space and are seeing strong growth.

Yet there is still an opportunity for operators to increase their role in the market. 40% of SMEs say they prefer to buy their security bundled with connectivity, giving operators a clear advantage.

This Briefing will explore how operators can make the most of this opportunity, delivering a critical service, fostering closer relationships with customers and building a valuable revenue stream.
