This is the first time the operator has offered HD cloud-based gaming direct from set-top box.
The service will be available in Proximus’ home market of Belgium from September 2019.
Proximus says Shadow, the cloud-based computer, will be integrated into its latest generation set-top box.
This will enable the box to act as a video game console that allows consumers to play all the latest games, regardless of their native platform.
Subscribers customers will be able to play on their TV, as well as all their other devices such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet.
Gaming is a big market
Guillaume Boutin, Chief Consumer Market Officer of Proximus, states: "The cloud is on everyone's lips and many innovative projects are flourishing, so we are proud to be the first operator to offer the future to our customers thanks to Shadow.”
Emmanuel Freund, President and co-founder of Shadow, said, “This partnership is part of our commitment to make gaming accessible to as many people as possible with the best experience."
