Tele2 to conduct network audit after outages

    -

Swedish telecoms group Tele2 is undertaking an urgent network audit, following three significant outages in the last year.

The “major” audit will scrutinise network components and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement.

In June, an outage disrupted voice call services for many customers for several hours.  Two previous disruptions affected roaming in Europe and customers in Sweden.

The audit is underway and is expected to take around three months. It will be led by external management consultant company, Analysys Mason, working with Tele2’s technology team.

“We are not satisfied with anything less than Tele2 having the most reliable networks in the markets where we compete,” said Anders Nilsson, President and CEO, Tele2.

he added, “We want our customers to feel confident in our ability to deliver stable and secure services, which is why we’ve initiated this audit. Network reliability is, and will continue to be, our most prioritised area.”
