Over twice as many as same time last year
May 2004 has seen another increase in its highest recorded number of WAP pages viewed in one month since counting began in September 2002. 1.46 billion WAP pages impressions were viewed in the UK during May 2004, according to figures announced today by the Mobile Data Association (MDA).
The total, from GSM Network operators O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone, shows an emerging trend with a daily average figure of 47 million for a second month, more than doubling the daily average of 22.5 million for the same period last year. The MDA, allowing for seasonal differences, forecasts continued growth with WAP page impressions expected to reach a total of 13 billion for 2004.
