TDC beats Danish heavyweights for best mobile network crown

    -

TDC has beaten back Telenor, TeliaSonera and Three in a nationwide coverage analysis of network performance by the Danish Technological Institute (DTI).

TDC said it took the top spot in terms of stability, voice quality and data speeds in a test based on readings taken from 500 mast sites in 2014.

At each site, all four mobile networks were tested for call quality, streaming quality and upload and download speeds, in order to gain a representation of daily mobile phone use.

The DTI report concluded that on average, TDC offered the best overall customer experience compared to its three rivals.

Johan Brammer, Senior Executive VP of Consumer at TDC, said: ”We are extremely proud of the result. Our fast and stable network gives our mobile phone customers even more options, while also providing us with a firm foundation on which to fulfil our ambition of being the leading provider of entertainment to the Danish people.”

The operator said its mobile network now covers 99.5 percent of Denmark following investments worth approximately DKK 4 billion (€535 million) over the past 14 months, in which it upgraded all 3,400 of its mobile phone masts.

TDC revealed it had also launched a mobile app that allows users to send information about data speeds, in order to help target “problem areas” on the network.

Brammer said: “We cannot promise an immediate improvement, but we can promise that we will keep a close eye on any problem areas. The customers’ experiences and the feedback they give us are crucial, so we will continue to improve Denmark’s best mobile network.”
