    Telenor Connexion appoints first CTO

    -

Telenor Connexion has appointed its first Chief Technology Officer, as it looks to develop new solutions for the Internet of Things.

Martin Whitlock joins from consultancy Northstream, where he was a Director and responsible for strategy assessments and sourcing projects with a range of telco clients.

The move cements his recent appointment as Telenor Connexion’s interim CTO. Whitlock will be responsible for the division’s global technology team, leading a range of different IoT initiatives as the company bids to expand.

Telenor has been using its Connexion arm to source its own IoT solutions, with staff moving over from the latter to lead the charge. Connexion is focusing on connected business solutions for enterprises.

Telenor Connexion CEO Mats Lundquist said: “This appointment strengthens our ability to expand our business and to continue to develop innovative IoT solutions providing value to our customers”.

“I am very excited to have Martin on board as he will be an invaluable addition to our executive team. I am confident in Martin’s ability to successfully break new ground with his impressive record of accomplishment from his previous role.”

Whitlock added: “I am very pleased to assume the CTO position at Telenor Connexion and will devote my full energy to helping the company achieve its goal of designing and delivering smart and innovative IoT solutions to make it easy for our customers to realise the value of connected services.”
