Pignatelli is a long-standing member of TIP’s board with “deep expertise and passion for open and disaggregated networks”
Francisco ‘Paco’ Pignatelli, Vodafone Group’s Head of Open RAN and a TIP board member, has become TIP’s new president. The position became vacant after Caroline Chan resigned from Intel in August.
“Francisco has been a valued TIP board member, bringing deep expertise and passion for open and disaggregated networks,” according to TIP on LinkedIn. “His leadership will help guide our community as we continue to accelerate innovation, scale deployments and shape the future of connectivity.”
Chan was GM of telco AI and new technologies at Intel until last month and is now taking a sabbatical, she announced on LinkedIn. Cristina Rodriguez, GM of Intel’s Network and Edge (NEX) Group, has been appointed by Intel to join the TIP board, although in July, Intel announced NEX is to be spun out as a separate entity.
