Verizon has partnered with Google Cloud to expand its AI offering across its business, with a focus on customer experience, network operations, data management and employee productivity.
The strategic partnership will see Verizon expand its use of Google Cloud’s AI and data technologies, including Gemini Enterprise, as it continues to modernise its operations and build AI into more areas of the business.
Verizon will also use Gemini’s conversational and multimodal AI capabilities to create a more personalised digital experience, as it looks to focus on customer service.
Verizon’s existing relationship with Google Cloud in contact centre technology has also evolved into Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, helping automate customer interactions and support employees on more complex cases.
Beyond its network, Verizon plans to use Google Cloud’s AI and data technology across areas such as marketing, security and employee productivity, with the tool being used to automate content creation and campaign management.
Meanwhile, security teams are using technology to strengthen threat detection and risk management.
Verizon Chief Transformation Officer, Alfonso Villanueva, said: “Verizon is on a journey to become the most trusted carrier for our customers’ connected lives.
“Serving each and every one of our customers by name requires working AI-first at every level. Our partnership leverages Google Cloud’s AI and data capabilities across our organisation to better enable our employees and keep our customers at the centre of everything we do.”
The partnership also builds on Verizon’s multi-year effort to consolidate legacy data lakes into Google’s Agentic Data Cloud.
Google Cloud, Chief Product and Business Officer, Karthik Narain, said: “Verizon is pioneering what a true, full-scale AI transformation looks like for a global enterprise.
“By integrating Google Cloud’s full AI stack into its business- from high-performance infrastructure and Gemini models to custom business agents- they are reshaping the future of telecommunications and building an autonomous network for millions of customers.”
