Nokia and VodafoneThree have partnered to activate the first 100 advanced 5G radio sites on Vodafone’s UK network.
The move builds on the partnership between the two companies, as part of the telecom giant’s plans to build a nationwide 5G Standalone network.
VodafoneThree is investing £11 billion in its next-generation network, with Nokia’s AirScale Radio Access Network (RAN) technology playing a central role in the rollout.
The companies said the first advanced 5G radio sites were brought online in 2026, with the deployment laying the groundwork for wider deployment and improved services for customers.
VodafoneThree Network Development and Infrastructure Director, Iain Milligan, said: “Reaching this milestone so quickly is a testament to the expertise and commitment of the teams at VodafoneThree and Nokia.
