VodafoneThree boosts 5G coverage at London Gatwick Airport

-

VodafoneThree has deployed enhanced mobile network coverage at London Gatwick Airport.

As a result, customers will benefit from faster data speeds and improved voice call quality at the UK’s busiest airport.

According to the telecoms giant, the move is designed to improve connectivity for millions of passengers passing through the airport, which welcomes over 43 million passengers every year.

Vodafone first introduced dedicated mobile coverage across both terminals in 2022. Now, through Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) technology, Three customers can also access the infrastructure at no additional cost.

The technology allows both operators to share network coverage following their merger, helping passengers enjoy smoother streaming, quicker downloads and more reliable connections when making calls or sending emails before boarding.

Additionally, both terminals have also been equipped with dedicated Vodafone 5G+ coverage, also known as 5G Standalone (5G SA).

The Gatwick deployment forms part of VodafoneThree’s wider network investment programme following the merger of Vodafone UK and Three UK in June 2025.
