The operator announced a partnership with Vyntelligence to support field engineers as part of its post-merger network integration and infra upgrade
VodafoneThree is to use Vyntelligence’s Agentic Video Intelligence Work Platform to support its network integration and upgrade programme. The technology is intended to improve the efficiency, accuracy and safety of on-site engineers as they upgrade thousands of mobile network sites across the UK.
As part of the merger of Vodafone and Three, VodafoneThree committed to invest £11 billion in the network with the aim of running the best network in the country. The current programme aims to deliver 5G Standalone coverage to 99% of the UK population by 2030, and 99.96% by 2034.Â
The programme will be carried out by partners and subcontractors. Using the Vyn app, field teams will capture short, guided videos of their work which is reviewed in near real-time, assisted by AI, to identify risks and safety concerns, and confirm when the site is ready.
In comparison to paper-based workload management, working this way should massively reduce repeat visits to sites, which is a big deal when each trip can costs many hundreds or even thousands of pounds, depending on location and the nature of the work involved.
