    SonyEricsson tends to release a host of products around the middle of the year, and this year saw the usual collection of new phones, and a PC card with combined GSM, 3G and WiFi support.

    The GC99 PC card combines WiFi with GSM/ EDGE/ GPRS connectivity.
    “Sony Ericsson is one of the first companies to announce a combined card for the UMTS, EDGE and Wi-Fi networks,” Anders Franzén, corporate vice president and head of Sony Ericsson M2M Communications, said. S
    Sony Ericsson said the GC99 PC Card offers connectivity on UMTS networks at up to 384 kbps and 54 Mbps over Wi-Fi (WLAN) The card will also work with Macs.
    The company also launched a range of phones, listed below.
     K608 3G UMTS  phone, S600 “super-play swivel” phone, Z520 “fashion” phone, J120 entry level phone.
    Hutchison 3G has signed up for the K608 (pictured left), a highly featured phone aimed at the coming mass 3G market.  Jan Wäreby, corporate executive, vice president and head of sales and marketing of Sony Ericsson, said the need for a mass market phone was evidenced by the growth in global 3G subscriptions.
    “We are building our 3G portfolio to support this growth,” he added. 
    The phone has a 1.3 Megapixel camera, 1.8 inch screen, Bluetooth, and comes with a built in golf game (Vijay Singh Pro Golf 200 in 3D) pre-loaded on the phone.
