Consilium Technologies, the local authority and housing association mobile application specialist, has been appointed to the worldwide Microsoft Windows Mobile Developer Advisory Council. Consilium Technologies is one of only two members in the 20-strong panel to be headquartered in Europe.
The invitation-only programme provides a forum for industry partners to influence the development of the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform, by sharing their requirements as well as their customers' experiences and plans for future applications.
Consilium will provide specific feedback from its extensive customer base across the public sector and the use of its TotalMobile solution with services such as environmental health, incident management, fire safety, housing and repair scheduling for maintenance teams.
The Council will provide Consilium with access to key Microsoft mobility experts and insight into future development plans for Windows Mobile.
"The opportunity to shape future developments within the mobility space is a major achievement for the company and underlines our dedication to mobile excellence in the applications we're developing for our customers," said Gareth Tolerton, chief technology officer, Consilium Technologies. "Through our appointment we will be able to directly feed back customer challenges and priorities to Microsoft to ensure their needs are recognised and use to shape the mobile applications of the future."
"The Windows Mobile Developer Advisory Council is a forum that enables Windows Mobile reach out to our partners in a very focused manner to gather feedback on how to make Windows Mobile a better platform from a technical level," said Steve Hegenderfer, mobile evangelist, Microsoft. "Based on its expertise in the space, Consilium's acceptance to serve on this council will pay excellent dividends in the future."
