Telekom brings 5G+ Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW together

Deutsche Telekom has launched a new 5G-enabled cloud-gaming offer, integrating NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW platform into its 5G Standalone network

Deutsche Telekom has expanded its 5G+ Gaming service through a partnership with NVIDIA that brings the popular GeForce NOW to customers on its 5G Standalone network. The offer, available exclusively via the MeinMagenta app from 9 December, includes three months of free access to the GeForce NOW Performance membership for eligible Telekom customers through the operator’s Magenta Moments loyalty scheme. Customers must activate the 5G+ Gaming option within the app in order to use the service.

The rollout marks a shift from Telekom’s earlier 5G+ Gaming offer, which previously relied on Sora Stream, a little-known cloud gaming provider. GeForce NOW brings a significantly larger content catalogue, with NVIDIA stating the platform is used by more than 25 million people worldwide.

Telekom said the move builds on its wider strategy to combine 5G Standalone capabilities, network slicing and low-latency technologies to support cloud-based services. “With our new Magenta Moments offering, we combine our key strengths: delivering a unique mobile cloud-gaming experience on the best network. Thanks to the strong collaboration integrating NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW platform and Telekom, gamers can enjoy a high-performance and smooth gaming experience on the go in Germany’s largest 5G+ network,” said Telekom Deutschland managing director, private customers, Axel Orbach.

NVIDIA GeForce NOW director Richard Lamond said the integration aligns the chipmaker’s cloud-gaming technology with the bandwidth and latency characteristics of Telekom’s Standalone network. “With the integration of GeForce NOW’s advanced RTX cloud platform with Telekom’s 5G+ network, mobile gamers in Germany can experience seamless, high-definition play and instant responsiveness – transforming how and where people game across the country,” he said.

Slicing action

The collaboration, first announced in August, centres on the interplay between GeForce NOW and Telekom’s 5G+ network architecture. The operator points out that the key feature is the use of a gaming-specific slice within the Standalone core, coupled with L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput), designed to pre-empt congestion and stabilise latency and jitter in busy cells. According to Telekom, the combination makes it the first operator in Europe to deliver latency-optimised mobile gaming for GeForce NOW over 5G Standalone.

The offer is initially available to customers on current MagentaMobil plans, introduced from August 2024, who use compatible 5G devices. Supported models at launch include Samsung’s Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S25, S25+, S25 Edge, S25 Ultra and the Fold 7, with further devices from Xiaomi to follow. Android users can download the GeForce NOW app from the Google Play Store. The Magenta Moments promotion runs until 23 December 2025.

GeForce NOW streams titles from cloud-hosted NVIDIA RTX servers and supports more than 2,300 Ready-to-Play games from stores including Steam, Epic Games, Xbox Game Pass, Battle.net, EA and Ubisoft Connect. Telekom added that its 5G+ service is now available wherever its 5G network is present, covering around 99% of the German population.
