Vodafone attracts interest in Vantage Towers’ stake

    -

Bloomberg reports American Tower and Cellnex are among potential bidders

Vodafone Group floated 18% of its Vantage Towers on the Frankfurt Stock Market last year and its currently valued at around £12 billion.

Since then, it has been looking to attract additional investment by selling an additional stake or stakes, or maybe even a merger.

Neither Orange nor Deutsche Telekom wanted to play, although they were highlighted by Vodafone Group’s CEO as potential partners.

Now, according to Bloomberg, American Tower Corp (ATC) and Cellnex could launch joint or separate bids as early as this week for an unspecified stake.

KKR, Global Infrastructure Partners and EQT could also be interested, according to a report in a British newspaper published a couple of weeks ago.

It said Vodafone was looking to offload up to 50% of its holding in Vantage Towers to make inroads into its £36 billion mountain.
