Vodafone Procure & Connect has partnered with Telenor to manage the group’s international voice operations across its Nordic markets and Telenor Maritime.
The operations are currently run by Telenor Linx. Under the new agreement, Vodafone will manage international voice traffic coming into and going out of Telenor’s Nordic markets and Telenor Maritime.
The partnership will give Telenor access to the telecom giant’s global network, voice expertise and existing operating platform.
Telenor Linx’s existing customer and partner agreements will continue during the transition to ensure a smooth handover, with gradual changes happening over the next six months.
According to Telenor, the partnership will not affect customer services, existing commercial relationships or agreed voice interconnect services.
Telenor Linx, CEO, Stig Waagbo, said: “As the telecommunications industry continues to evolve, strategic partnerships play a crucial role in driving efficiency and delivering greater value to customers.
“This agreement with Vodafone reflects our commitment to optimising our operations while maintaining the highest standards of service. We are confident that Vodafone is the right partner to support this next chapter of our voice business.”
Vodafone Managing Director of Voice & Roaming Services, Kenneth Graham, added: “Managing international voice services at scale requires deep expertise, trusted relationships and robust security capabilities.
“Telenor’s decision to select Vodafone reflects the strength of our platform and the capabilities we have built. We welcome the opportunity to support Telenor’s customers and further strengthen the partnership between our companies.”
