NetTest, a provider of operational support solutions, has introduced an integrated OSS Solutions portfolio for real-time service assurance. The vendor hopes the new offering positions it as the “only supplier to provide a complete set of solutions that address the challenges of successfully managing complex networks and services, while ensuring that networks operate at peak performance at all times”.
NetTest says that its OSS Solutions portfolio is the first to combine real-time and historical monitoring data for integrated service assurance purposes. Real-time information on changes in service and network behaviour helps operators rectify potential customer and revenue issues; historical information supports powerful root cause capabilities to quickly pinpoint the origination of service and network failures.
Decreasing average revenue per user for legacy services, and increasing operational expenses due to service and network complexity, have generated interest in OSS solutions that support new customer and service-focused business processes, while lowering operational costs.
According to OSS industry analyst firm OSS Observer, the service management market is estimated to grow from $270 million in 2005 to $630 million in 2009.
