Ensuring optimum MMS services for consumers

-

Anite Telecoms has been selected by CETECOM to provide its Application Enabler Conformance Toolset (ACT) equipment to test MMS services. The aim is to ensure consumers who use fully tested mobile devices receive the best experience when sending and receiving multimedia messaging.

CETECOM provides test services for handset manufacturers and network operators. The ACT software toolset provides a base for validated testing for MMS as well as a capability for Browser testing (WAP2). These tests are among the first to be developed to the OMA (Open Mobile Alliance), GCF (Global Conformance Forum) and PTCRB (PCS Terminal Certification Review Board) standards.

In addition, to meet the growing demand for MMS conformance testing, CETECOM has set up three further MMS test platforms at its mobile communications site in Feldkirchen near Munich, where Anite’s ACT system is based.

“Getting MMS right is essential, especially considering the interoperability challenges consumers experienced when the service was initially launched,” said Daniel Oosthuizen, director of global sales and marketing at Anite’s Telecoms division.
