3GSM NEWS: Bridgewater Systems and Oracle conduct interoperability testing

    -

Bridgewater Systems, a leading developer of subscriber-centric policy management software for IP-based services, today announced it has begun interoperability testing with Oracle. The testing pairs Bridgewater Systems Home Subscriber Server (HSS) with Oracle Communication and Mobility Server, a third-generation, programmable Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Presence application server and a key component of Oracle Service Delivery Platform (SDP).

As a result of the interoperability testing, service providers will be able to quickly and cost-effectively launch new IP-based communication and collaboration services using the proven Bridgewater Systems HSS solution and Oracle Service Delivery Platform. Bridgewater, a Certified Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, also joins the Oracle Service Delivery Platform Partner Initiative to work closely with Oracle’s extensive list of world class partners to bring rich, carrier-grade and integrated solutions to market quickly and to simplify deployment for service providers.

In an IMS network, the Bridgewater Systems HSS is the master repository that maintains information for the authentication, authorization, and establishment of subscriber calls and sessions. In addition, the HSS holds significant subscriber profile information, and delivers subscriber information to an application on demand, or when subscriber information changes.

“Oracle continues to expand its product portfolio in the SDP market,” said Indu Kodukula, vice president of product management, voice mobility, communications platform, Oracle. “To help ensure that communications service providers have a seamless, turnkey solution, it is important that we work with a world-class HSS provider such as Bridgewater. Their product breadth, expertise, and proven track record has earned them an impressive reputation with service providers and make them an excellent addition to the Oracle SDP partner ecosystem.”

Oracle Service Delivery Platform includes the industry’s leading SIP Application Server with support for Proxy/Registrar and IMS-compliant presence services for a complete IMS-ready infrastructure to support new carrier-class Voice-over-IP (VoIP), mobile, and real-time applications. Providing support for legacy networks, Oracle’s scalable SDP includes a rich set of adapters that connect the SDP to existing network elements and communications equipment, enabling carriers to rapidly roll out new services while protecting their existing investments.

“Teaming with Oracle as part of the Oracle SDP Partner Initiative provides Bridgewater with an opportunity to build on our work with world-class companies as we facilitate best-of-breed solutions for the industry,” said Tyler Nelson, vice president of business development and marketing, Bridgewater Systems.
