Anthropic has partnered with Macquarie Asset Management and GIC to launch a new data centre infrastructure platform.
The three technology giants announced the creation of Theseus Infrastructure, a platform that will develop, operate and lease data centre infrastructure to Anthropic under long-term agreements.
The facilities will be purpose-built to support Anthropic’s expanding capacity requirements as demand for its AI technology continues to rise, the company revealed.
As a result, , the companies will identify and develop new data centre sites, with Anthropic serving as the anchor tenant.
Funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, alongside GIC, will own the platform and provide the majority of the equity needed to fund each development.
Meanwhile, the planned projects are expected to involve significant capital investment and generate thousands of construction jobs, as well as permanent operational roles in the communities where the data centres are built.
In a statement, Macquarie said: “Demand for Claude continues to grow rapidly across businesses, developers, and consumers, and meeting that demand requires significant new compute.
“Anthropic is partnering with Macquarie Asset Management and GIC, drawing on Macquarie’s global expertise developing, financing, and operating large-scale digital infrastructure, and GIC’s deep experience investing in infrastructure around the world.”
