VEON has signed a 10-year deal with Amdocs to upgrade its IT systems and expand its digital and AI services across Eurasia.
As a result, Amdocs will manage and modernise VEON’s core IT operations, helping the operator improve efficiency and manage costs over the next decade.
Additionally, Amdocs will also use technology developed by QazCode as part of its aOS platform, an AI-powered operating system built for telecoms operators.
The deal comes as digital and AI services continue to grow at VEON, now making up around 27% of its total revenue, the company revealed.
VEON CEO, Kaan Terzioglu, said: “Our strategic partnership with Amdocs creates a strong foundation to keep improving people’s lives through digital and AI innovation over the next decade.”
Amdocs Group President, New Growth Horizons, Anthony Goonetilleke, said: “VEON is one of the most ambitious digital operators in our industry, and exactly the kind of partner we built aOS, the agentic operating system specialised for telco, for.
“With aOS, Amdocs will help transform VEON’s operations, customer experiences and digital services through verticalised, telco-specific AI, advancing its evolution toward intelligent agentic autonomy. VEON’s trust in Amdocs to lead this journey reflects our shared ambition to shape the next era of the digital operator.
“This agreement also expands Amdocs’ presence in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the wider Eurasia region, where we see significant opportunity.”
