Anritsu, a global provider of Operations Support Systems (OSS) for advanced and converged networks, today announced the availability of eoCompass, a radio access network (RAN) management solution.
The source of most dropped calls, slow downloads and poor quality voice connections, is the radio access network (RAN). The RAN is also the most complex and expensive part of the mobile network to optimise as the demands on it are very dynamic, changing as subscribers move, use bandwidth hungry applications and enter buildings and vehicles. Since the launch of mobile networks, the primary tool to optimise the RAN has been drive tests, and the poor quality of service often experienced demonstrates that this is a far from an ideal solution.
Anritsu says it has addressed this challenge with eoCompass. The new eoCompass application supports network optimisation, fault investigation, customer care and network planning. It is fully integrated with the MasterClaw end-to-end performance management system, and builds on Anritsu’s established radio competence retained from its highly successful GSM Compass tool.
