The Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT) and Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) have partnered to expand satellite connectivity and strengthen Libya’s communications infrastructure.
As a result, the move will bring together ARABSAT’s satellite capabilities and regional coverage with LTT’s expertise in Libya’s telecommunications sector.
According to the company’s the partnership will help provide reliable, secure and scalable connectivity for government institutions, businesses, telecommunications operators and other critical sectors in the region.
Under the agreement, ARABSAT will provide High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity on Arabsat-6A at 30.5 degrees east to support LTT’s existing connectivity requirements as well as future demand.
The partnership will also allow the two organisations to explore additional areas of co-operation, including expanded services and new satellite-based solutions.
Commenting on the agreement, ARABSAT CEO, Dr. Badr N. Alsuwaidan, said: “The signing of this agreement marks a new strategic milestone in the collaboration between ARABSAT and Libya’s telecommunications sector.
“It also reflects the depth of the institutional relationship between ARABSAT and the Libyan International Telecommunications Company (LITC), one of ARABSAT’s principal shareholders, underscoring our shared commitment to advancing the telecommunications sector, strengthening digital infrastructure, and supporting Libya’s digital transformation ambitions.
“Through this agreement with Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT), ARABSAT will provide advanced satellite capacity and satellite communication solutions that will enhance communications services across Libya, supporting the evolving needs of government entities, telecommunications operators, enterprises, and strategic and critical sectors through secure, reliable, and high-performance satellite connectivity.”
LTT chairman Ammar Al-Bouzaidi, continued: “The signing of this agreement marks an important milestone in our collaboration with ARABSAT.
“By combining ARABSAT’s advanced satellite capabilities with LTT’s national expertise, we will strengthen our communications infrastructure, enhance service quality, and deliver reliable connectivity solutions that support the evolving needs of our customers and the future development of Libya’s digital economy.”
