Sony Ericsson unveils the Bluetooth Media Viewer MMV-100 – easy sharing of images and audio from phone to TV or digital projector

0

Sony Ericsson today unveiled the innovative and fun Bluetooth Media Viewer MMV-100. It takes Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology to a new level and expands the number of ways images and audio can be transferred between devices. The MMV 100 plugs directly into a TV or digital projector, to allow users to send images from a mobile phone to a large screen via Bluetooth wireless technology. The MMV-100
will be available in Q2 2004.

The MMV-100 is practical, easy-to-use and the perfect accessory for people who want to share images and audio in a fast and hassle-free way. The Media Viewer can be used as a fun way to share images with families and friends or as a lightweight business accessory for slide shows. Images and audio are transferred from the phone by one simple touch of the phone keypad.

The Media Viewer can be used with TV or digital projector and expands the concept behind Bluetooth products. Instead of pairing one phone with one Bluetooth device, the MMV-100 can handle ‘many-to-one’ connectivity, meaning several people can use their phones to transfer images to one screen. It also enables the transfer of AMR and MP3 audio files directly from a Bluetooth(TM)-equipped mobile phone enabling music files to be enjoyed through the superior sound quality of a television’s speakers.

In addition, the MMV-100 is also an easy-to-use work tool.
Presentations saved as images and stored on a mobile phone such as the K700 or S700 can be transferred via Bluetooth(TM) to a bigger screen in a meeting or conference room.

The MMV-100 supports the following Bluetooth(TM) profiles: File Transfer Profile (FTP), Object Push Profile (OPP), and Basic Imaging Profile (BIP). It can be used with the Sony Ericsson phones K700, S700, P900, P800, T630, T610 and T68i (functionality may vary depending on phone). The MMV-100 connects to a TV or projector through the SCART or via stereo audio/video RCA cable and there will be variants for both PAL and NTSC formats.

Sony Ericsson unveils the Bluetooth(TM) Car Handsfree HCB 300 – wireless convenience with multi-user functionality

0

Sony Ericsson today unveiled the newest addition to its portfolio of in-car accessories, the Bluetooth(TM) Car Handsfree HCB 300. It offers an innovative Color ID interface that makes it easy to share the device with other people who drive the same car. The HCB-300 is ideal for users who lead active lives and have a keen interest in taking advantage of the latest technology. The HCB-300 will be available in stores in Q3 2004.

The HCB-300 automatically connects to the user’s phone using
Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology when the car ignition is engaged, even if the phone remains in a pocket or bag. This makes it more convenient for people who frequently have to get in and out of their car. The user can make their preparations to drive without having to remember to connect the HCB-300 to the phone. With the phone still in the user’s pocket or bag, there is no risk of leaving the phone
behind in the car when the journey is over.

The HCB-300 can handle up to five different user profiles. Each user chooses an identification color from the Color ID feature. When the car ignition is engaged, the HCB-300 automatically connects to the last phone used in the car displaying the pre-selected Color ID for that phone. If a user with the Color ID ‘blue’ drove the car last, the display will indicate the Bluetooth(TM) connection with a blue screen interface. If the next person in the car is a different user with a Color ID ‘green’, the HCB-300 will first try to connect to the ‘blue’ phone, as it was the last used in the car, then automatically
search and find the ‘green’ Color ID user’s profile. A user can
manually change the Color ID with one easy key push or  simply wait for the HCB-300 to find the phone. The Color ID feature allows an entire family or group of colleagues using the same company car to use the same HCB-300.

The HCB-300 supports the voice recognition, voice tags in the address book of the phone in use, allowing users to receive phone calls while driving without losing focus. If the phone rings it’s easy and convenient to take the call with just one simple key push increasing the driver’s safety and convenience.

When a call is received, the car stereo automatically mutes and the driver can hear the caller’s voice loud and clear. The HCB-300 offers excellent sound quality for a pleasant user experience, allowing users to handle important calls without the worry about missing vital information because of sound disturbance.

He needs to be sure that his laptop is plugged into the office network, so that he can collaborate with his colleagues and clients in ‘real time’. Sony Ericsson is able to meet that need,” says Anders Franzén, Corporate Vice President and Head of Sony Ericsson M2M Communications Unit.
