Claims to be the first service provider in the Middle East to offer gigabit speeds only
Vodafone Qatar has launched a new range of fibre broadband consumer packages, GigaHome, with speeds starting from 1Gbps. It claims to be the only provider in the Middle East to offer Gigabit-only speeds.
Vodafone’s GigaHome residential fibre range now offers all new residential customers speed options of 1Gbps, 2Gbps, 5Gbps, 10Gbps and 25Gbps. Previously it offered 20Mbps, 100Mbps and 500Mbps deals.

Giga accolades
Ramy Boctor, CTO at Vodafone Qatar, said the Home Fibre network leverages edge XG-PON Technology and “allows us to be fully future ready. This is in line with our recent announcement of enabling one of Middle East’s first Gigacities, at Msheireb Downtown Doha (pictured)”
In February Vodafone Qatar won the World’s Fastest Mobile Network award which was based on results from consumer-initiated tests taken with Speedtest by Ookla.
