QuickPlay Media’s mobile video solution raises the benchmark in Europe

QuickPlay Media has announced the availability of its leading mobile video solutions to carriers and content providers in Europe following the success of major 3G deployments in North America.  QuickPlay Media currently works with entertainment companies including Disney Group’s ESPN Mobile Publishing, CBC / Radio Canada, and MTV Networks and mobile carriers including Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless and Telus Mobility to offer video on demand services.

“By optimising video for individual handsets and networks QuickPlay Media offers an antidote to ineffective first-generation video services that leave users cold and operators wondering why they bothered investing.  We remove the business pains for carriers and content providers by integrating our service with leading billing and content management platforms so companies can effortlessly add video to mobile services or enhance their existing offerings. Consumers expect high video quality regardless of the medium that it’s delivered on — we’ve already raised the benchmark for mobile video in North America and expect steady uptake in Europe,” said Raja Khanna, chief creative officer and co-founder of QuickPlay Media.

Consumers have shown an immense appetite for user generated content (UGC) delivered to computers and the potential for the mobile channel is also vast, but there are fundamental differences in the delivery and management of content that need to be addressed.  Raja Khanna, QuickPlay Media explains, “To take advantage of the growing appetite to engage consumers in UGC communities on mobile devices, companies need to bring consumers closer to the content by reducing the effort and number of clicks it takes consumers to access videos.”
