In a new phase of a long-standing relationship, Netcracker will update all components of the OSS which underpins wholesale and carrier services

BICS, a Proximus Global company headquartered in Brussels, is to upgrade its Netcracker Digital OSS as part of a strategic modernisation programme. The intention is to improve the stability, security and long-term support of its core OSS platform, which underpins wholesale and carrier services including roaming, messaging, voice, 5G, IoT IP Exchange (IPX) and data capacity.

BICS provides wholesale capacity and services for mobile operators, virtual network operators and enterprises, and handles about 50% of the world’s voice and data roaming traffic, although its focus is on 5G and IoT connectivity

The upgrade covers all components of Netcracker’s OSS platform deployed by BICS, including Resource Inventory, Discovery & Reconciliation, Service Inventory, Service Information Management, Service Problem Management and Network Planning & Design.

Yaunese Aazibou, CTO at Proximus Global, noted, “As we have grown and evolved, our partnership with Netcracker has become more important to deliver next-generation services such as global roaming, messaging, voice, data and emerging IoT and 5G offerings.

“By migrating to a high-performance, future-proof OSS platform, we are in a great position to continue to bring the very best options to our customers now and in the future.”

“This critical upgrade marks another important step in the relationship between BICS and Netcracker,” said  Alessandro Corneli, Senior Vice President Strategic Accounts – EMEA at Netcracker.
