RETN has expanded its network in Sofia, Bulgaria, with a new Point of Presence (PoP) at Neterra’s Sofia Data Centre (SDC).
As a result, Neterra has become a new RETN IP Transit customer, connecting to RETN’s international backbone and its network across Europe and Asia.
The new PoP gives the global network service provider RETN more capacity and connectivity options in Sofia, an important hub for internet traffic in Southeast Europe, the company revealed.
It also gives carriers, service providers, content providers and businesses more ways to connect to major markets across Europe and Asia.
With the new location at SDC, RETN now has eight on-net PoPs in Sofia, further strengthening its network in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe.
RETN Commercial Director, Betina Pavlova said: “Sofia is an important connectivity hub for Southeast Europe, and expanding our presence here enables us to better serve customers across the region.
“We’re pleased to welcome Neterra as a new IP Transit customer and to connect them to RETN’s international backbone. This expansion strengthens our network in Southeast Europe and gives customers across the region and beyond more connectivity options.”
Neterra Senior Product Manager of Connectivity, Dean Belev continued: “Route diversity makes a network dependable. With RETN, we gain another independent path to Europe and Asia, which means more resilient connectivity for our customers across the region.”
